Summer is over.
It comes naturally to me to reflect back as the seasons change. The word that keeps coming to my mind over the last few weeks has been RICH. I feel so ridiculously, filthy rich these days.
We all define wealth differently. I used to think if I had lots of money and things I would be rich. Others define wealth by the size of their portfolio or how soon they can retire from their full-time job. Still others define wealth by how many kids they have, the size of their home or the kind of car they drive.
I am rich because of the people I get to call friends.
I am rich because of the love and support I receive from these friends.
I am rich in quality time and experiences.
I am rich in joy, health and the often elusive peace we all would sometimes pay for.
In retrospect I really covered a lot of ground this summer. It kicked off with my bestie’s birthday. Then I went on a girl’s cruise to the Bahamas. I made a couple of weekend jaunts to Myrtle Beach.
Saved all year for my annual SoCal visit. I made countless trips to the lake, the pool and the ice cream shop all summer long. I even got to view the Solar Eclipse in totality down in Greenville, SC.
My challenge or motivating questions to you are: How do you consider yourself rich? Are you prioritizing the friendships or activities that make you feel wealthy? If not, what is one thing you can do to change that?
